飛利浦積極主張HDCP 2.2標準相關專利，除了於ITC訴狀中強調已經與三星（Samsung）、微軟（Microsoft）就相同專利達成專利授權合約後，飛利浦此波訴訟大舉控告9家集團廠商侵權。如下表列整理， 飛利浦於2020年9月17~18日，分別於不同聯邦地方法院與國際貿易委員會（ITC），對晶片製造商英特爾（Intel）、聯發科（Mediatek）和瑞昱半導體（Realtek）及使用它們晶片的下游電視機和個人電腦品牌廠商，如：戴爾（Dell）、惠普（HP）、聯想（Lenovo）、TCL、樂金（LG）、海信（Hisense）等公司提起專利侵權訴訟。

HDCP 2.2 標準的位置檢查（Locality Check）功能
如Wiki所解釋，高頻寬數位內容保護（HDCP）標準是由英特爾公司所發展，用以確保透過DVI、DisplayPort、HDMI等數位介面所傳輸的數位化高畫質影像與聲音資料，不會遭到到非法盜拷而成為未經授權盜版影片。當欲透過HDMI視訊埠輸出HDCP機制保護的數位影音內容時，視訊訊號來源（例如：藍光播放機、電腦顯示卡或PlayStation 4遊戲主機）和視訊顯示裝置（例如：電視機、電腦顯示器或投影機）雙方都必須內建HDCP認證金鑰（Key）才能正常播放此數位影音。若視訊訊號來源和和視訊顯示裝置其中任何一方不具備此HDCP認證金鑰，則高畫質數位影像將被迫降低解析度後才能輸出播放，或甚至完全不能播放影像。
