2014年11月8日M-Edge International Corporation (以下稱M-Edge)於美國馬里蘭州聯邦地方法院 (United States Eastern District Court of Maryland )向LifeWorks Technology Group LLC (以下稱LifeWorks)提起專利侵權訴訟，指控LifeWorks所製造販賣的手持電子裝置保護套侵害M-Edge所擁有的US 8,887,910 (下稱’910專利)美國專利。
本案系爭專利’910專利名稱「可作為立假之低調保護套(Low profile protective cover configurable as a stand)」，是一種用於平板行動裝置之保護套設計，該保護套可折疊後做為平板行動裝置之放置架。
M-Edge設立於美國馬里蘭州的行動裝置配件公司，製造販賣各式行動裝置配件，包括保護套、觸控筆、行動照明等配件。
LifeWorks設立於2008年，是創新設計之裝置配件公司，旗下品牌包括LifeWorks, iHome, Blac Label, RBX與iConnect。
M-Edge指控LifeWorks設計銷售的行動裝置保護套，包括LifeWorks Universal Tablet Bundle (LW-BD2000B, LW-BD2001B) (also marketed as Club Jacket) ,LifeWorks Denim Jacket (LW-T2040, LW-T2041), LifeWorks Turn Coat (LW-T2010, LW-T2011), LifeWorks Mag Book 360 (LW-T1200, LW T1201), LifeWorks Fur Coat (LW-T2020)，利用了’910專利技術，已直接侵害M-Edge專利權，M-Edge請求法院判決LifeWorks直接侵害專利權，核發永久禁制令，以排除LifeWorks繼續侵害專利權，並LifeWorks需支付專利侵害損害與訴訟相關費用。(450字)
