2013年8月13日，總部位於美國德拉瓦州的Parallel Networks, LLC(下稱Parallel)，於美國德拉瓦州地方法院，指控總部位於美國佛羅里達州的Citrix Systems Inc.(下稱Citrix)之雲端儲存相關的硬體及資訊服務，侵犯其專利權，要求法院核發永久禁制令、也要求合理的權利金、損害賠償以及訴訟律師費之補償等。
本案系爭專利共2項，為同一專利家族，名稱皆為統一資源定位器改變的方法及其系統(Method and system for uniform resource locator transformation)，皆向epicRealm Licensing, LP轉手而來，目前專利權人為Parallel Networks, LLC，詳細資料如下:
- 美國專利編號US 8,352,570(子案)，係於2009年8月4日申請，2013年1月8日核發。
- 美國專利編號US 7,571,217(母案)，係於2000年8月16日申請，2009年8月4日核發。
本案原告Parallel Networks, LLC，成立於1995年為專利授權公司(non-practicing entity; NPE)，前身為epicRealm Licensing, LP，經查詢美國專利局轉讓資訊，其下共擁有約30項美國專利。
本案被告Citrix Systems Inc.，成立於1989年，為軟體開發公司，主要產品為虛擬化伺服器、網路和雲端計算解決方案等，年營業額約 22.1 億美金。
另外，本案原告Parallel Networks, LLC亦於同一天(2013年8月13日)，於同一法院(美國德拉瓦州地方法院)，對總部位於美國德拉瓦州的雲端硬碟及其他電腦軟體公司Brocade Communications Systems Inc.提告，該案案號為1:13-cv-01413，系爭專利與本案同為US 8,352,570及US 7,571,217。(686字；表2)

A web browser (20) at a client (12) generates a request (26) for content from an origin server (18). A cache server (16) intercepts the request and examines the request to determine whether the request should be transformed. More specifically, the cache server compares transform criteria (40) to a uniform resource identifier portion (28) and a header portion (30) associated with the request. By transforming the request such that information in the header portion is included in the uniform resource identifier portion, the cache server can cache the content associated with the request using the uniform resource identifier portion of the request.
