2013年4月29日，美國密西西比州的Jam Strait, Inc.（原告）以其所持有的US 6,786,625專利侵害為由，對德拉瓦州的Osram Sylvania, Inc（歐司朗美國分公司）提起專利侵權之訴，請求法院下禁制令並判賠損害賠償，全案由路易斯安那州東區地方法院負責審理。
被指控侵害系爭專利的產品為歐司朗所生產、販賣的168/194/2825 LED燈（系爭產品），原告認為該產品至少侵害系爭專利的第30請求項。系爭專利名為「用於交通工具之LED燈模組（LED light module for vehicles）」，係用於車尾燈、剎車燈及轉向燈之燈具模組。
