2014年9月24日Cirrex Systems, LLC，於美國達拉威聯邦地方法院(United States District Court for the District of Delaware)向Tyco Electronics Corporation提起專利侵權訴訟，指控Tyco所製造販賣之光波導系統，侵害Cirrex Systems所擁有的US7,298,936 (下稱’936專利)美國專利。
Cirrex Systems是一家主力發展光纖系統、醫療器供應商，Cirrex Systems之前身為醫療器材製造商Visionex，後經朗訊科技(Lucent Technologies)注資2000萬美金資金，而成為以光學技術開發與發展工業應用之研發公司。
本案系爭US7,298,936「光通訊組件與元件之簡易製造(Facile production of optical communication assemblies and components)」，是一種形成多通道光波導間光纖鏈路的改良型光纖設計。原專利權人為Graywire LLC，Graywire LLC之後即更名為Cirrex Systems。
被告Tyco Electronics隸屬於泰科集團(Tyco International)旗下之電子零組件、網路解決方案、海底通訊系統及特殊產品之供應商。
Cirrex Systems控告Tyco Electronics所製造販賣的光波導系統MPO Fiber Optic Cable Assemblies，乃是利用’936專利技術。Tyco Electronics未經Cirrex Systems同意，即逕行利用其專利技術，已直接侵害Cirrex Systems之專利權，Cirrex Systems請求法院判決Tyco Electronics直接侵害專利權，核發永久禁制令，以排除Tyco Electronics繼續侵害專利權，並要求Tyco Electronics需支付專利侵害損害與訴訟相關費用。(639字；表2)
