2013年10月23日，位於德州的專利授權公司Inductex, LLC（下稱Inductex），向東德州聯邦地方法院泰勒分院（Eastern District of Texas Tyler Division）提起訴訟，控告總部位於加州的珠寶批發與零售商DGSE Companies, Inc（下稱DGSE），所使用的RFID庫存管理系統，侵害其感應技術的專利權。Inductex要求DGSE負起損害賠償的責任。
目前只知道Inductex成立於今年（2013年）九月，至於該公司究竟是新興的專利授權公司，或是某知名專利授權公司所成立的子公司，則因資料過少，不得而知。被告DGSE成立於1965年，為美國知名網路珠寶商，DGSE在市場通路上所使用的名稱為Dallas Gold & Silver Exchange, Inc。
本案系爭專利為美國專利編號US 5,791,648，專利名稱為「感應裝置（Inductive Sensory Apparatus）」，於1998年8月11日核發，是由G. BurnellHohl所研發的專利，原專利權人也是G. Burnell Hohl。Inductex宣稱，DGSE至少侵害第23個權利項的技術。另外，訴狀中，Inductex只說，DGSE使用的RFID庫存管理系統侵害其專利權，但並未提及特定廠牌或型號的名稱。

An inductive sensory system for use in reading a code contained on a coded object, said system including:

除了DGSE外，Inductex也以相同專利告了另外一家名為Dillard's Inc（下稱Dillard's）的廠商。Dillard's是美國中大型的百貨公司，主要販售精品服飾和居家用品；和DGSE一樣，Dillard's也是被控其所使用的RFID庫存管理系統，侵害Inductex的感應專利技術。（589字；表2）
