2013年8月2日，總部設立於美國達拉瓦州的Advanced eScreens LLC(“Advanced eScreens”)，於美國達拉瓦州地方法院，指控總部位於總部位於美國華盛頓的Amazon.com Inc.(亞馬遜；“Amazon”)之Kindle全系列電子書相關產品，侵犯其專利權，要求合理的權利金、損害賠償以及訴訟律師費之補償等。
本案系爭專利共1項，為美國專利編號US6,525,866，名稱電泳顯示器、其用以顯示的流體以及顯示圖像的方法(Electrophoretic displays, display fluids for use therein, and methods of displaying images)，係於2002年1月16日申請，2003年2月25日核發，目前專利權人為Advanced eScreens LLC，係從Xerox Corporation(全錄)轉讓而來。
電泳顯示技術，係一種利用泳動原理的反射式顯示技術，透過在透明或彩色液體之中的粒子因電極與電場的不同而移動，使像素變亮或變暗。電子紙相關產品大多採用此技術。
本案原告Advanced eScreens LLC，成立於2013年1月23日，應該為專利授權公司，經查美國專利局轉讓資訊，其下共有12篇專利。另外，Advanced eScreens同時於2013年8月2日，於美國達拉瓦州地方法院控告Barnes & Noble, Inc.及Sony Electronics Inc.(與Sony Corporation)專利侵權，案號分別為1:13-cv-01383及1:13-cv-01384。(686字；表2)
