2013年4月10日，設址佛羅里達州的照明公司Lighting Science Group Corporation(LSG公司，原告)對北卡羅萊納州的Cree, Inc.(Cree，被告)提起專利侵權之訴，請求法院下禁制令及授予損害賠償。全案由佛羅里達州地方法院進行審理。
本案系爭專利為美國專利US 8,201,968，名為「輪廓照明」(low profile light)。LSG公司指控Cree產製販賣的T67 LED嵌燈侵害其專利的1-6、9、14、 17-20及22請求項，該產品多用於鑲嵌在天花板。
