2013年1月31日，總部設於美國馬里蘭州(Maryland)的Microlog Corp.(下稱Microlog)於美國德州東區地方法院泰勒分院(District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Tyler Division)指控聯絡中心系統廠商Cisco Systems, Inc.等9家廠商(下合稱被告)所製造及銷售的客戶聯絡中心系統產品(下合稱被控產品)侵害其專利權。
根據訴狀中所述，原告Microlog認為被告在德州東區地方法院泰勒分院的管轄區域內，以製造、販賣、販賣之要約(offered for sale)及/或進口等行為進行侵權。依據28 U.S.C. §1391(b)(c)及1400(b)德州東區地方法院泰勒分院具有管轄權。
本案的系爭專利有1件，編號分別為：US7,092,509(下稱509)，系爭專利509主要提出一種聯絡中心系統及方法，可接收及處理不同形態的媒體資料，如語音、電子郵件、傳真、網路聊天(web chat)等。
US7,092,509: “Contact center system capable of handling multiple media types of contacts and method for using”(處理多種媒體類型的聯絡中心系統及其使用方法)，1999年9月21日提出申請，2006年8月15日獲證，包括21 claims (6獨立項)。下圖為系爭專利509主要圖式：
據本網站調查，原告Microlog主要業務為整合語音反應( Integrated Voice Response)及電腦通信整合(Computer Telephony Integration)相關產品，產品種類包括入站呼叫管理(inbound call management)和多媒體出站訊息(outbound multi-media messaging)，應用領域涵蓋醫療及彩卷系統等，也包含不少政府機關所使用的系統。
根據訴狀，原告Microlog認為被告9家廠商的聯絡中心產品和相關服務侵犯專利509的專利權，包括直接侵權及間接誘使(inducing)侵權，被控產品包括Cisco Intelligent Contact Management、Cisco Unified Contact Center、Aspect Unified IP、dynamic Agent Desktop等。被告及相關被控產品詳如下表：

根據訴狀，原告Microlog請求德州東區地方法院泰勒分院判決被告9家廠商均侵害系爭專利509，並且請求法院判決被告相關人員必須停止從事任何侵權行為並進行損害賠償。事實上，原告Microlog自2011年開始即對被告展開一連串的控告，2013年1至2月間原告對被告提出多起訴訟，本案為相關案件之一。
