英特爾、博通、高通等通訊晶片產品在美被控專利侵權

2012年7月10日，一家設立於加州的技術研發與專利授權公司American Radio LLC (下稱American Radio)，向德州中區聯邦地院提起四起專利侵權告訴，分別控告博通(Broadcom Corporation)、高通(Qualcomm Incorporated)、思科(Cisco Systems Incorporated)與英特爾(Intel Corporation)、其所生產販售之多項通訊晶片產品，侵犯American Radio所擁有、無線電信號重建之方法與系統專利。

本案系爭專利為美國專利編號US 8,045,942，名稱為「使用信號處理器進行無線電信號重建之系統與方法(System and method for radio signal reconstruction using signal processor)」，發明人為Robert Hotto，權利人為American Radio，於2011年10月25日核發。

本案系爭專利之發明人Robert Hotto為30多項專利之發明人，而本案原告American Radio應為其所設立的一家公司。Robert Hotto所設立之另一家公司Positive Technologies, Inc. (據查，這家公司之登記地址與本案訴狀中所載American Radio的地址相同)，曾在2010年向德州東區聯邦地院提告，控告Sony、Apple、Acer等13家公司，侵犯Robert Hotto所發明之螢幕快速顯現影像技術相關專利(案號為2:10-cv-00263-TJW-CE)、亦曾在2007年對BenQ、Samsung、LG Display、NEC 及JVC等13家面板公司提起專利侵權訴訟(案號為2:07-cv-00067-TJW)。 (479字；表2)
