2012年5月1日，一家設立於德州、名為Rotatable Technologies LLC（下稱RT）之專利授權公司，向美國東德州聯邦地院提告，控告宏碁（Acer America Corporation）、華碩（ASUSTek Computer Inc.及ASUS Computer International）、Archos（Archos S.A.及Archos, Inc.）、Motorola Mobility, Inc.、Samsung Electronics USA, Inc.、Sony Mobile Communications (USA) Inc.、Adobe Systems Incorporated、Opera Software International ASA等8家公司之多項產品，侵犯其所擁有之透過圖像使用者介面在電腦顯示器上選擇性旋轉個別視窗之方法發明專利。同時，RT也以相同專利另案提告，控告Nokia Inc.侵犯其權利。
本案系爭專利為美國專利編號US 6,326,968，名稱為「在電腦顯示器上選擇性旋轉視窗之顯示方法（Display method for selectively rotating windows on a computer display）」，2001年核發，發明人為Steven John Robbins。
在本案被控侵權產品，以行動通訊裝置之軟硬體產品為主，包括宏碁、華碩、Archos與Motorola之平板電腦產品，Samsung、Sony與Nokia之智慧型手機產品，以及供Android使用之Adobe Reader與Opera之微型網路瀏覽器等軟體產品。(437字；表3)
