影片檢索系統訴訟，LG等多家亞洲廠商牽涉其中

2010年11月10日，位於美國德州的專利控股公司InMotion Imagery Technologies控告6家消費性電子產品製造商涉嫌影片檢索系統的專利侵權，這幾家公司分別是日商JVC、先鋒公司(Pioneer)、松下電器 (Panasonic)、韓商樂金(LG)、中國廠商聯想(Lenovo)以及美商惠普(HP)，全案目前由德州東部聯邦地院負責審理調查。

本次的系爭專利編號為US6,526,219，這是Inmotion Imagery Technologies僅有的兩項專利其中一項，專利發明人為John Posa和Barry Schwab，專利涉及以圖片為基礎的視頻錄像檢索系統，也就是說將一段視頻的某幾個時間點以圖片方式擷取，做為影片的預告或是時間點設置，讓使用者可以快速的了解影片大概內容或是方便切換至想觀看的影片段落。

Inmotion Imagery Technologies是一間專利授權公司，於2009年取得兩項專利權後成立，已經在今年(2010)提起了3起專利侵權訴訟，其中更與華納兄弟(Warner Bros.)等多家企業達成和解共識，並同時進行專利技術授權。

而在過去的兩次訴訟中，Inmotion Imagery Technologies主要是鎖定電影製片公司以及娛樂相關產業，這次轉向針對亞洲廠商為主的產品製造商，謀取更大的利益以及報酬，同時尋求在未來將矛頭指向其他科技大廠的可能性。(437字；表1)
