聯發科(MediaTek, Inc)甫於2012年3月29日宣布其推出世界第一顆針對行動裝置(mobile consumer devices)所設計的MT7650，是針對802.11ac+藍牙4.0的無線Combo單晶片解決方案。該項產品與聯發科其他具備藍牙傳輸功能之Combo單晶片、例如MT6620等，便於4月6日在美國東德州聯邦地院（U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas）被提起專利侵權告訴。這些Combo單晶片輸入美國販售之行為，除被控直接侵權外，而同時提供這些晶片解決方案給其他行動裝置或電腦代工廠、讓其裝設在最終消費電子產品上的商業行為，亦被控告構成美國專利法第271條第b項(35 U.S.C. §271(b))的誘使侵權(inducing infringement)。

本件告訴涉及專利為美國專利編號US 7,756,129，名稱為「具備自動連接與分離程序之個人區域網路（Personal area network with automatic attachment and detachment）」，描述在個人區域網路中一項裝置與hub自動建立通訊協定進行連接之方法；該項專利於2010年7月核發，發明人為Robert J.Donaghey，權利人則為本案原告之一的Azure Networks, LLC公司。

本案原告Azure Networks以及Tri-County Excelsior Foundation(TCEF)曾於2010年12月針對多家頂尖規模的半導體大廠提出侵權控告，請見本網站前期文章【Azure Network控告多家半導體大廠侵權】。當時，其中一項專利亦為由Robert J. Donaghey所發明之US7,218,633專利。Azure Networks的靈魂人物Kevin J Zilka有多年IP法務經驗，且與多家專利授權公司有所關聯，諸如Aloft Media, LLC、Oso Innovations, LLC、Stragent, LLC、Balther Technologies, LLC等。另一原告TCEF則為非營利法人(non-profit corporation)，亦為公益非營利組織CASA of Harrison County的支援組織之一，但亦持有多項專利(例如亦由Robert J. Donaghey所研發之US8,149,829專利)，且積極提起專利侵權告訴。(548字；表1)
