2013年7月17日，美國德拉瓦州的ICON Health & Fitness, Inc(下稱ICON或原告)向Garmin,Ltd(國際航電)、Garmin International, Inc.(國際航電美國事業總部)、Garmin USA, Inc.（下合稱國際航電或被告）提起專利侵權訴訟，指控被告所販售的The Garmin Foot Pod(系爭產品)侵害其所持有的US 5,720,200專利(系爭專利)。原告表示系爭產品侵害其專利，要求被告立即停止再美國加利福尼亞洲及美國全區進行販售、製造、行銷等行為，且主張被告在2013年2月起便已知悉侵害原告之專利卻仍繼續侵害專利行為，因而請求法院授予永久禁制令、侵權之一般和懲罰性損害賠償。全案將由加州地方法院負責審理。
系爭產品為計步感測器，結合全球定位系統以及其他功能，通常用於提供跑步等運動者關於自身訓練的資訊，包括步數、里程、航跡等等。系爭專利名為「Performance measuring footwear」，即是專用於測量運動表現、裝置於使用者腳上的訓練器材，也因此看似在健身與導航不同產業的兩家公司有了訴訟上的交集。
