Rovi在美控告LG、Vizio、Mitsubishi之家庭劇院電視產品侵犯其專利權利

2012年5月1日，數位娛樂大廠Rovi Corporation公司聯合其子公司，向美國德拉瓦州聯邦地院提起三起專利侵權告訴，分別控告LG、Vizio與Mitsubishi三家公司之3D高畫質家庭劇院電視等產品，侵犯其所擁有之互動式節目指南（interactive program guides、IPG）、以及特定節目觀看控制等技術相關專利權利。

在控告LG的案件中，系爭專利為：

美國專利編號US 6,898,762以及US 7,065,709，名稱均為「主從式架構之電子節目指南（Client-server electronic program guide）」；

美國專利編號US 7,225,455，名稱為「電子式電視節目指南排程系統與方法（Electronic television program guide schedule system and method）」；

美國專利編號US 7,493,643，名稱為「具隨選視訊瀏覽功能之節目指南系統（Program guide system with video-on-demand browsing）」；

美國專利編號US 8,112,776，名稱為「提供電視節目時程資訊之互動電腦系統（Interactive computer system for providing television schedule information）」。

在控告Vizio的案件中，系爭專利除了US 6,898,762、US 7,065,709以及US 8,112,776外，還包括：

美國專利編號US 7,103,906，名稱為「使用者控制之多重裝置隨選媒體播放系統（User controlled multi-device media-on-demand system）」。

在控告Mitsubishi的案件中，系爭專利則除了US 7,225,455與US 7,493,643外，還包括：
美國專利編號US 6,701,523，名稱為「帶有暴力節目控制晶片與節目指南功能之使用者介面裝置與方法，可用來設定阻看電視或其他視頻節目，例如用來讓父母控制孩童所收視之節目（V-Chip plus+in-guide user interface apparatus and method for programmable blocking of television and other viewable programming, such as for parental control of a television receiver）」。

Rovi及其子公司在2011年1月時，以US 7,493,643與其他四項專利，對Amazon.Com及其子公司IMDB.Com, Inc.提起專利侵權告訴，亦在2011年11月時，以US 6,701,523與另一項專利，針對Haier之數位電視產品提起侵權告訴。而在提起上述三起侵權告訴之同日，Rovi亦向美國北加州聯邦地院提起專利侵權告訴，控告Roku, Inc.之串流媒體播放器侵犯其US 6,898,762 專利。(727字；表3)
