2010年3月15日專利授權公司Commonwealth Research Group LLC (以下簡稱：Commonwealth) 於Delaware聯邦地院提告三星等半導體廠商侵權，有關於電腦節能晶片涉及侵犯了Commonwealth擁有的專利(US6026493)，該系爭專利由Commonwealth 獨家經由轉讓而取得授權。
據原告訴狀指稱，被告廠商未經合法授權生產、製造、使用及銷售該項專利技術，原告請求法院向被告給予發出暫時及永久禁制令(Permanent Injunction)及禁止(Enjoining)被告後續的侵權行為，並尋求損害賠償。
