觀察企業申請商標也是一件很有趣的事，特別是以歷史觀點回顧過去，循著時間的脈絡，從故往知來而推測出該企業的對新產品佈局市場的思維，特別是商標用語間的拿捏。畢竟，商標也是象徵著品牌與形象。
參考本網文章【裕隆自創品牌正式定案，LUXGEN今年開賣】及【裕隆品牌的掙扎，總是繞著L打轉】，可看出裕隆對於新品牌掙扎。最後，裕隆決定結合「Luxury（豪華）」與「Genius（智慧）」，創造出大L形LUXGEN商標。
圖一為比亞迪(BYD)於美國商標地圖，共有6個美國商標，其中一個已經放棄。最早商標早在2000年3月13日即申請，應用類別為電池。2005年12月24日首先申請BYD應用在汽車商標，之後該商標又放棄。至於，比亞迪美國商標產品與服務比較，如表一。

目前，所使用企業識別符號為2007年10月10日所申請，涵蓋類別：009、012與037。從比亞迪商標申請可以看出，將商標統一，並廣泛應用於汽車與電腦已初步成定局（不區分電子零組件與汽車）。從2007年10月10日所申請商標，更可看出比亞迪的企圖（夢想）：
Land vehicles; Airplanes and helicopters; ships; rail vehicles, namely, trains; electric vehicles, namely, electric cars; automobiles; motors for land vehicles; anti-theft devices for vehicles; motorcycles; bicycles; railway handcars; tires for land vehicles; boats.
如此看來，該商標除了潛水艇之外，天上的、地上走、水上漂的皆是可應用的產品範圍。從企業在不同國家進行商標申請，可透露出其市場企圖及產品佈局。比亞迪(BYD)也注意到台灣的市場，在台灣也進行商標申請，如圖二所示。至於比亞迪在日本、歐洲、美國與亞洲等地區所申請商標皆有一些差異。有興趣者可至各國掌管商標的政府機構去查閱。
