新聞：（ 2005 年 12 月 31 日 NY TIMES NEWS SERVICE - Intel aims to remake itself as consumer brand ） Under the guidance of Eric Kim, the man largely responsible for Samsung's rise as a global brand, Intel is hoping to shed its computer geek image. Intel Corp, the world's biggest chip maker, is at last breaking away from its longstanding love affair with pure computing power to remake itself as a consumer-friendly brand that will let Intel-based products dominate the digital home.

想知道 Intel 在美國有哪些車牌（商標品牌）嗎？很簡單，上美國專利與商標局網站（ http://www.uspto.gov ），選擇商標（ Trademarks ）檢索（ Search ），再選擇布林表單檢索（ Structured Form Search (Boolean) ）即可看到如圖一的檢索畫面。我們在檢索欄位「 Owner Name 」填入「 ”Intel Corporation” （雙引號表示完整字串）」，所得之 Intel 美國商標檢索結果如圖二，由圖可見，現有 Intel 共有 390 筆資料。

Intel 最早申請之商標

根據圖三的整理， Intel （創立於 1968 年）最早申請之美國商標有二，其一為 intel （注意商標首字小寫，並且字母 e 位置較低），另一為 i ，其申請日均為 1969 年 4 月 24 日，申請號分別為 72325488 與 72325489 （由申請號可判斷哪一個商標先申請）。兩個商標的核准註冊時間分別為 1970 年 11 月 10 日與 1971 年 6 月 15 日，註冊號分別為 0914978 與 0902104 （由註冊號可判斷哪一個商標先核准）。換句話說， Intel 最早註冊之商標為 ”intel” ，而最早取得之商標（核准）為 ”i” 。由於商標是表徵特定商品於服務之識別，因此該商標所應用之範圍為一重要議題。由圖可見，此二商標均用於 IC 009 類別，包括 IC （ INTEGRATED CIRCUITS ）與半導體記憶體（ SEMICONDUCTOR MEMORIES ）等。

Intel Inside 商標

一般人都知道 Intel 最著名的商標之一為 intel inside ，我們來瞭解該商標所申請日期與保護範圍。進入同一美國專利與商標資料庫，選擇進階檢索（ Free Form Search (Advanced Search) ），並鍵入自然語言檢索字串「 ("Intel Corporation")[ON] and ("intel inside")[BI] 」，可得結果為 33 筆。檢視較重要的的兩筆商標，可得結果如圖四。由圖可見， intel inside 商標為 1991 年 4 月 22 日申請，並於 1992 年 7 月 21 日註冊核准，另一個結合 intel inside 與 Pentium Processor 的商標為 1995 年 8 月 8 日申請（單獨之 Pentium 商標於 1992 年 7 月 2 日申請），並且此兩個商標所應用之產品均為 IC 009 類別，即與微晶片或半導體 IC 相關。根據 Wikipedia 所報導（ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel ）， Intel Inside 的行銷擴展活動主要操盤手為 Intel 的市場行銷經理 Dennis Carter （已離職，可參考 http://silicongenesis.stanford.edu/transcripts/carter.htm ）。

Intel 新商標與 Leap Ahead 商標
